Broccoli Pasta Salad

Broccoli Pasta Salad
For the Salad:
1 pound spiral pasta
1 bag broccoli (10 ounces)
1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2  cup red onion, chopped
1/2  cup golden raisins
1/2  cup roasted Sunflower Seeds
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese

For the Dressing:
1  cup mayo
1/3 cup sugar
2  tablespoons cider vinegar
1/4  teaspoon garlic powder

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water, drain and rinse with cold water. Place in a large bowl. Cut the broccoli into bite size pieces, removing any tough stems. Add the broccoli, bacon, red onion, golden raisins, Sunflower Seeds and cheese to the large bowl with the pasta.

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayo, sugar, cider vinegar and garlic powder.  Pour over the pasta mixture and stir gently to combine. Place in the fridge for a couple of hours before serving.

Enjoy!

Oh that looks tasty. I know my hubby would definitely love this....such a great idea to sprinkle with sunflower seeds too.

Broccoli is my favorite veggie, and I LOVE it in salads too. This looks delish, Kim! :)

We think the Sunflower Seeds make it!

Thanks Holly for stopping by. This is about the only way my family will eat raw broccoli.

Hi I just made this for the 4 th and its too sweet almost nasty where did I go wrong I followed this recipe

So sorry to hear that. I would just try cutting down the sugar as you may not like it that sweet. Maybe add a little more vinegar if you like the tang. Also, did you use real mayo (light is fine)? If you used Miracle Whip or some other type salad dressing that would make it too sweet. Another idea would be to use your favorite Ranch dressing. It would give it a totally different flavor, but it is delicious if you like Ranch. Let me know if you try it again. Thanks so much for the feedback and I hope you'll visit us again!
